On June 1, 2017, Project SEARCH had all 10 students graduate from the program at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital. This was a monumental and successful year as ALL students, at the time of graduation, were placed in competitive jobs in the community by the supported employment agency affiliated with the program, Parents Alliance Employment Project. Some of the jobs include Linen Tech at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital, Package Handler at FedEx and Laundry Attendant at The Herrington Inn and Spa.
Project SEARCH, at Central DuPage Hospital, will be going on its fourth program year in 2017-2018. The School Association for Special Education in DuPage County works with surrounding high school districts to appropriately enroll up to 12 intern spots in the program each year. Project SEARCH is a high school transitional program designed to help students with disabilities acquire job skills so that they can obtain competitive employment in the community.
Congratulations to the Class of 2017!
