Parent & Educator Partnership Grant

http://pepartnership.org/     Parent & Educator Partnership is a Parent Mentoring Project supported by the Illinois State Technical Assistance Center for Parents (ISTACParents).  Parent Mentors act as a liaison between families of children with special needs and the educational staff to improve the outcome for children.  There are currently 12 sites in Illinois that have Parent Mentors supported by ISTACParents.

Parent Mentors

        Familiarize families with special education policies and laws

        Prepare families for IEP process

        Equip families to advocate for their child

        Act as a liaison between the school and families

        Improve collaboration between parents and teachers

        Increase family involvement

        Develop family leadership

Funds for this project are provided by the Illinois State Technical Assistance Center For Parents grant from the Illinois State Board of Education.  100% of funds are from federal sources.
