Parent Guide Now Available
Educational Rights and Responsibilities: Understanding Special Education in Illinois is a guide document that was developed by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) for parents and others to learn about the educational rights of children who have disabilities and receive special education services.
While these rights are available on the ISBE Special Education Homepage, we have downloaded the PDF formatted document in hopes that our families and communities will take advantage of easily accessing this information through the SASED website. We want to use this as an inaugural effort to get all of our stakeholders to identify the SASED website as a base point for information and /or resources that are important to them. Towards that end, we also want to announce that in the very near future, this document will be permanently located in the “Parent” section of our website that is currently being developed.
Note* The Spanish version of this document is still in development. Paper copies of Educational Rights and Responsibilities are not available from ISBE at this time. For questions regarding Educational Rights and Responsibilities call the ISBE at 217/782-5589.
