School Psychology Awareness Week
In recognition of Illinois School Psychologists, Governor Quinn has proclaimed November 9th – 13th as School Psychology Awareness Week. The proclamation highlights the specialized training, consultation, assessment, intervention, prevention, collaboration and research activities conducted by school psychologists in their varied roles. The Governor commends school psychologists on their dedication to improving the education of our children.
Awareness activities in Illinois
will coincide with other state and national efforts this month.
School psychologists use their training in child development,
learning, mental health, motivation, behavior, and scientific
research to impact decision making at the individual, classroom,
school, and district level. Collaboration with educators, parents,
mental health, and community members helps to bring about the most
effective learning environments for our students. SASED is very
grateful for all the dedicated School Psychologists who work in our
member districts and within our programs.
