Who We Are

Special education joint agreements are established by multiple Illinois school districts “to provide needed special education facilities and to employ a director and other professional workers…” (105 ILCS 5/10-22.31) “...for the purpose of providing comprehensive and cost efficient special education services” (Illinois School Code, 2012, p.297).

SASED (School Association for Special Education in DuPage) was established in 1958 with 35 member districts. As a joint agreement, SASED is governed by a Board of Control which includes one representative from each of SASED’s 18 member districts. The Board meets monthly and functions similarly to a local school district board of education.
